New on Hulu: All the Movies and TV Coming in March

March may have already started, but if you think that’s going to stop us from running through the new titles headed to Hulu this month, you’ve got another thing coming. We’re all out of ado—here are the film and television additions the greenest streamer has in store.

Hulu’s most thrilling addition of the month arrives on March 13 in form of Free Solo, the Academy Award-winning 2018 documentary following climber Alex Honnold as he attempts to achieve his lifelong dream of scaling the 3,000-foot rock face El Capitan in Yosemite National Park—without a rope. If the thought of such a feat fills you with visceral terror (as it does us), never fear: There are plenty of other movies streaming as of today, March 1, including a pair of superhero classics in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Tim Burton’s beloved Edward Scissorhands, cult workplace comedy Office Space, Best Picture-winning domestic drama American Beauty, Dennis Hopper’s psychedelic road film Easy Rider, 1995’s original, Robin Williams-led Jumanji and Emmy-winning Malala Yousafzai documentary He Named Me Malala. And coming later this month are one of Paste’s top films of 2018 in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s ensemble drama Shoplifters (March 14), 1992 Laura Esquivel adaptation Like Water for Chocolate (March 15) and satirical 2018 black comedy Assassination Nation (March 18), among others.

As for Hulu’s small-screen offerings, the title most worth marking your calendar for is the season one premiere of the streamer’s new original comedy series Shrill (March 15), starring Saturday Night Live’s Aidy Bryant as Annie, a fat young woman trying to jumpstart her career while dealing with a demanding boss, bad boyfriends and a sick parent. The six-episode series, executived produced by Lorne Michaels and Elizabeth Banks, was adapted from Lindy West’s memoir Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman. Other notable TV additions include March’s episode of monthly Blumhouse anthology Into The Dark, streaming now (spoiler alert: maybe skip this one), as well as the complete fourth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead spinoff Fear the Walking Dead (March 19) and the series premiere of Hulu original The Act (March 20), “a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories,” per the streamer. The anthology’s first season follows Gypsy Blanchard, a girl trying to escape her toxic relationship with her overprotective mother, whose quest for independence takes her down a dark path.

Our last order of business is taking stock of what’s leaving Hulu this month. Though they at least have the decency to wait until March 31, a bunch of titles are leaving the streamer’s library on that date, including Chinatown, Total Recall, Rain Man, A Fish Called Wanda, Grizzly Man, Friday Night Lights, True Grit (1969), Scent of a Woman, Tombstone, Pet Sematary (and Pet Sematary II), Three Kings and more.
